RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Imran Khan and ex-information minister Fawad Chaudhry were on Wednesday indicted by the Election Commission of Pakistan in a contempt case.
Four members of the Election Commission of Pakistan conducted hearing of the case inside the Adiala jail and indicted the two leaders of the embattled PTI party of Khan.
During the hearing, Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry were present. The charge sheet was read out to both the incarcerated PTI leaders, but they refused to accept them.
The contempt case was launched against the two PTI leaders for insulting the election commission and the chief election commissioner repeatedly in public meetings, press conferences and interviews.
