ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to transfer former prime minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Islamabad Jail once the new facility is completed, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said.
He added that since Imran Khan was sentenced by a court in Islamabad, he would be moved to the capital’s jail after its completion in about two months.
“The Islamabad jail will be completed within two months. Once it is ready, Imran Khan will be shifted there,” the minister said, adding that the new prison would be equipped with all necessary medical facilities.
Naqvi highlighted broader reforms in the federal police force, stating that a specialized counterterrorism unit had recently been established. He noted that the six-month training course was completed in three months through intensive efforts.
