Imran’s X handle operated from abroad, says PTI spokesman

Rauf Hassan says that if video uploaded on X is found against PTI narrative it would be deleted.

ISLAMABAD: The X (formerly Twitter) handle of PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan is being operated from abroad by someone based in the USA.

This was stated by PTI spokesman Rauf Hassan after a video uploaded on the X handle of the jailed party drew criticism for being a propaganda against the state.

The video shows alleged human rights violations by Pakistan army during an operation in East Pakistan. It also declared the army as an aggressor and responsible for the breakup of the country in 1971.

As the Federal Investigation Agency announced to launch an investigation to trace the person who uploaded the video the PTI spokesman announced that the X account was being handled from abroad.

He even claimed that he had not watched the video, adding party leaders who shared it had done so on their own and it had nothing to do with the party policy.

Mr Hassan said that if the content of the video were found to be against the narrative of the PTI it would be deleted.p
