ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said that India pushed the entire region into war compelling Pakistan to respond to the Indian aggression.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan told reporters that Pakistan proved that there will be no compromise on honour and dignity. The operation was launched against Indian aggression, adding Pakistan’s armed forces shot down six Indian warplanes.
The Foreign Office spokesman said the ceasefire was made possible by the efforts of many friendly countries. He appreciated the role of friendly countries and said if there is any aggression in the future, there will be a strong response.
“We recognise India and Afghanistan as sovereign and independent states and a policy of mutual respect and non-interference is essential for regional peace.”
The spokesperson said that we do not comment on the relations of any country with other countries. Every state has the right to make its own foreign policy in an autonomous status.
He said Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all issues, including the issue of Kashmir and expects friendly countries to help the people of Kashmir get their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN resolutions.
