LAHORE: After India released water, the levels of the Sutlej and Chenab rivers rose, causing flooding in several areas.
According to reports, India has once again discharged water into the Sutlej and Chenab rivers, raising water levels and affecting communities along the banks.
In Multan, villages in the riverine belt have gone underwater. Residents have complained that no official rescue camps have been established, forcing many to relocate on their own.
In Kasur’s Ganda Singh Wala area, water levels reached 21 feet, accelerating the evacuation of flood-affected residents. Rescue teams and boats have been requested from other districts to aid relief efforts.
In Bahawalpur, rising water at Head Islam has submerged thousands of acres of farmland. Meanwhile, in Bahawalnagar, the collapse of a temporary embankment caused significant crop damage.
Additionally, in Layyah, flooding in the Indus River swept away a police check post.
