RAWALPINDI: ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Sunday said no one should dare to stop Pakistan’s water; if India stops our water, the consequences of Pakistan’s response will be felt for years and decades.
In an interview with British media, DG ISPR said that the government of Pakistan had made it clear to India on the issue of water. There is no need to say anything more from the army, only a madman can think of stopping the water of more than 240 million people.
He said that India could not dare to do this, hopefully. If such a time does come, the world will see our actions. If India stops Pakistan’s water, the consequences will be felt for years and decades.
The spokesperson of the Pakistan Army said that we fully abide by the promises made; we fully follow the instructions of the political government and keep their commitment. This ceasefire will be maintained by the Pakistan Army, confidence-building measures have been taken in the communication between the parties. If there is a violation, our response will always be on the spot. The response will be only at those posts and places from where the ceasefire has been violated.
In response to a question, he said, adding, “I can confirm that India’s sixth downed aircraft is a Mirage 2000. We only hit the aircraft, we could have taken more action. Despite attacks, all our air bases are fully operational. Pakistan Air Force has the resources with which the bases can be activated immediately.”
He further said that India’s Kashmir policy, oppression and attempts to make Kashmir an internal matter had failed.
