Indian Man Arrested After Killing Wife, Three Others in USA

GEORGIA: Over a minor domestic dispute, a man of Indian origin committed a horrific murder in the city of Lawrenceville, Georgia.

According to news agencies, at least four people were killed at the scene, while three children managed to hide in a closet to save their lives.

The children, after hiding inside the closet, called the police using a mobile phone, and within minutes, a police team arrived at the location. Following a pursuit and with the help of tracking dogs, the police apprehended the suspect, identified as 51-year-old Vijay Kumar, near a nearby forest while still armed.

The incident began after a dispute between Vijay Kumar and his wife, 43-year-old Menu Dogra. Menu along with her three children had gone to stay at her relatives’ house. Vijay arrived there, where an argument broke out between him and his wife along with her relatives. During the altercation, Vijay fired a gun, killing his wife Menu Dogra and three relatives.

At the time of the shooting, the couple’s three children, aged 12, 10, and 7, were also present but managed to hide inside the closet.

The identities of the three deceased relatives were confirmed as 38-year-old Harish Chandra, 37-year-old Nidhi Chandra and 33-year-old Goro Kumar.

The police stated that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute, though the exact cause of the argument remains unclear. The three children were handed over to a relative, while their father, the alleged murderer, was taken into custody and is currently under investigation at the police station.
