A video message from the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, was broadcasted for the participants of the ceremony. In his message, he stated that yoga is a means of strength for millions of people around the world.
The benefits of this ancient practice are invaluable in the present era, and on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, he expressed good wishes for a healthy life for people around the world.

Yoga originated from India, an ancient Indian tradition. He declared yoga as free from copyright and free for everyone. Anyone, regardless of their religion, race, or age, can practice yoga. It is not just a sport but a means to lead a healthy life. Yoga teaches us to harmonize with others and nature.
Modi said that the power of yoga is not only about being healthy and happy but also about being compassionate towards oneself and others. Let us all come together and create a peaceful, healthy, clean, and sustainable future with the power of yoga.
Yoga has one goal: one world, one family, one community. He prayed that everyone remains happy and healthy. He thanked the President of the United Nations General Assembly, the Secretary-General, and Mayor Eric Adams for the successful organization of the event.
It should be noted that in December 2014, Prime Minister Modi proposed the celebration of International Day of Yoga at the United Nations.
