ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari stated that India’s illegal occupation continues to deprive the people of Kashmir of their fundamental rights.
In a message on the occasion of Jammu Martyrs Day, the President recalled that the massacre of November 6, 1947, was one of the worst in the history of the subcontinent. He said that the Dogra army, RSS, and armed groups killed over 200,000 Muslims in Jammu, while more than half a million were forced to migrate.
President Zardari criticized the international community for failing to give due attention to the genocide of Kashmiri Muslims and emphasized that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people are a reminder of Jammu and Kashmir’s unfinished story.
He also condemned the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A, calling it part of a dangerous demographic change plan by India. According to him, Indian actions violate the Geneva Conventions, and the international community should not turn a blind eye to atrocities against Kashmiris.
President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s tribute to the martyrs of Jammu and pledged continued moral, political, and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir in their struggle for justice, dignity, and freedom.
