Internet, mobile services to be suspended during PTI protest
Extra police, paramilitary personnel sought by Islamabad police, road blockades to start soon.
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to suspend internet and mobile phone services in parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakthunkhwa during the protest by PTI on November 24th.
According to media reports, the internet and mobile phone services will remain suspended from November 23rd till the end of the protest by the PTI.
The police in Islamabad have sought from the government special funds and police and paramilitary forces personnel from different districts to be deployed in Islamabad to check the entry of people to participate in the protest.
The police is started arranging shipping containers for blocking Road inside the capital and major Highways leading to Islamabad from KP in Punjab.
According to reports the government was trying to hold talks with top PTI leadership to convince them to cancel the protest.
Meanwhile, in a report the police in Islamabad recently stated that the repeated protests by the PTI since July this year had cost the government over three billion rupees. One police official was killed by the protesters and scores of others beaten and injured.
Traders also suffered billions of rupees losses due to closure of businesses while vehicles and CCTV cameras were damaged during these protests.
