TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks targeting 14 U.S. military bases across the region.
This retaliatory action was in response to recent airstrikes by Israel and the United States.
According to an IRGC spokesperson, the assaults resulted in the deaths or injuries to over 200 American soldiers, and the operation, dubbed Operation Promise Fulfilled 4 is set to continue with even greater intensity.
The Iranian authorities have made it clear that their military’s offensive will not cease, with further missile and drone strikes on U.S. military assets expected in the coming days. The spokesperson emphasized that the ongoing operation is part of Iran’s broader strategy to counter what it perceives as foreign aggression from both the U.S. and Israel.
However, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has categorically rejected these claims, labeling them as inaccurate. CENTCOM dismissed the reported death toll of 200 American soldiers and denied allegations that any U.S. naval vessels had been harmed. The American military maintains that the situation on the ground is far less severe than Iran has reported.
The IRGC’s strikes reportedly targeted U.S. bases in Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Israeli military facilities within Palestinian territories. Iranian officials have described the operation as a direct response to what they consider the “brutal actions” of the U.S. and Israeli forces, who they accuse of perpetuating violence in the region.
