TEHRAN: Iran has formally rejected the U.S. proposal for a temporary ceasefire, sending its response through Pakistan.
According to Tehran, a short-term truce will not resolve the conflict. Instead, Iran is calling for a permanent, comprehensive agreement to end the war and ensure long-term regional stability.
The response includes ten key points, such as ending ongoing regional conflicts, securing safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting international sanctions, and rebuilding damages caused by U.S. and Israeli attacks.
Analysts say Iran’s stance, which prioritizes economic and security interests, could complicate efforts to reduce tensions quickly, as the U.S. favors a temporary ceasefire to immediately de-escalate the situation.
