TEHRAN: Following reported U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iranian officials have stated that key sites were evacuated prior to the attacks, preventing any potential radioactive leak or major damage.

According to an Iranian official, the airstrikes targeted the Fordow nuclear facility, while additional strikes occurred near the Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites. The official emphasized that “all sensitive materials and personnel were removed from the facilities in advance, and the targeted sites contained no radioactive material that could lead to contamination.”

This comes shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced that the United States had launched strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The developments mark a sharp escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran, raising concerns about the stability of the region and the future of international nuclear agreements.
