ISLAMABAD: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan early on Monday morning for an official visit aimed at reducing tensions between Pakistan and India following the recent Pahalgam attack in occupied Kashmir.
According to a spokesperson for the Foreign Office, the Iranian foreign minister was received at Islamabad International Airport by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan.
During his visit, Araghchi is scheduled to meet the president, prime minister, and deputy prime minister. The meetings will cover bilateral relations, regional developments, and global issues.
The spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that after Pakistan, Minister Araghchi will also visit India. The purpose of these visits is to promote peace and stability in South Asia and to mediate in reducing the current tensions between the two neighboring countries.
It is worth noting that Iran has recently offered to mediate between Pakistan and India and is actively pursuing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation.
