TEHRAN: Iranian President Masoud Pizheskian has issued orders to begin negotiations with the United States over the nuclear agreement.

The development comes following President Donald Trump’s ultimatum to Iran, threatening major military action unless Tehran adheres to a nuclear deal.

The Iranian President has directed that talks be initiated between Iran and the U.S. on the nuclear dossier. This was reported by Iran’s official news agency, Fars News, and also published by the state-run newspaper Iran, along with the reformist daily.

However, as of now, no details have been provided regarding the date or location of the negotiations.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced that the framework and procedures for the talks are being developed and will be finalized in the coming days. He added that discussions are taking place on several points, and he expressed hope that the next phases of the diplomatic process would be completed soon. However, he did not provide further details about the negotiation’s content.

Additionally, a senior U.S. official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed that negotiations between Iran and the U.S. would begin later this week. The official also stated that Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt are finalizing arrangements to host the meeting, indicating that these countries will act as intermediaries in the negotiations between Iran and the U.S.

This development comes at a time when President Donald Trump has expressed hope that a potential agreement could prevent military actions in the Middle East. Trump had previously made it clear that Iran’s time would be running out if a nuclear deal was not reached.
