ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia have signed an agreement in Moscow for the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills.
According to an official statement, a delegation led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar finalized the deal with Russian authorities.
Under the protocol, signed by Pakistan’s Secretary for Industries and Production and the relevant Russian official, the steel mill will be modernized with Russian cooperation.
Haroon Akhtar said Russia’s partnership would mark a new chapter in the mill’s history. He emphasized that the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills reflects the Prime Minister’s vision and represents a milestone for the country’s industrial future. The project is expected to boost employment and increase industrial output.
Officials say the agreement includes plans for technical upgrades, workforce training, and increased production capacity. Both sides have expressed commitment to completing the project efficiently to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
Analysts view this deal as a significant step toward revitalizing Pakistan’s struggling industrial sector. The revival of Pakistan Steel Mills, once a symbol of national industrial strength, is expected to attract further foreign investment and enhance the country’s manufacturing capabilities.
