Israel preparing possible strike on Iranian nuclear facilities: report

WASHINGTON: According to a U.S. intelligence report, Israel is preparing for a potential attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The report, aired by an American television network on Tuesday, indicates that the United States has received fresh intelligence suggesting that Israeli military and political leaders are considering offensive action.

However, U.S. officials emphasized that it remains unclear whether Israeli leadership has made a final decision to carry out the strike.

The U.S. National Security Council declined to comment on the matter. Similarly, the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the office of the Israeli Prime Minister have not issued any immediate statements in response to the report.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed skepticism about the outcome of ongoing nuclear negotiations with the United States, saying there is little hope for any tangible result.

The backdrop to these developments is the long-standing dispute between Iran and Western powers over uranium enrichment. The United States and its allies have long accused Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, while Iran maintains that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes.

This potential escalation could significantly impact regional stability and global diplomatic efforts surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
