GAZA: Israeli military assaults in Gaza show no sign of abating, with at least 104 Palestinians killed in the latest round of attacks across various areas today. Among the dead are 37 civilians who had gathered near food distribution centers in Rafah, hoping to receive aid.
The World Food Programme (WFP) has raised alarm over the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stating that one in every three people has been going without food for several days due to extreme shortages.
In a particularly disturbing development, Israeli forces targeted Gaza’s only Catholic church, resulting in the deaths of two people and leaving several others, including a priest, injured.
The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has also voiced concern, saying it has food supplies ready for Gaza’s population, but Israeli blockades are preventing aid deliveries through Egypt.
Meanwhile, Hamas has stated it had proposed a ceasefire agreement which included the release of all hostages, but claims Israel rejected the offer. Hamas has warned that if an agreement is not reached, it is prepared for a prolonged war.
In the UK, mass protests broke out in support of Palestine. Demonstrations were held in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Bristol, where thousands demanded that the Palestine Action group be removed from the list of terrorist organizations.
