Israeli Violations of Ceasefire Continue; Airstrikes Kill Three Palestinians

GAZA: Israel has carried out new airstrikes in southern Gaza, killing three Palestinians in the eastern part of Khan Younis despite the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 10.

Israeli forces also targeted Gaza City’s Zaitoun neighborhood and areas near Rafah.

Since the ceasefire began this year, more than 274 Palestinians have been killed and around 1,500 buildings destroyed by Israeli forces.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli troops shot and killed another Palestinian in the city of Tubas.

Meanwhile, the UN peacekeeping force reported that an Israeli tank fired at its personnel in southern Lebanon. Israel claimed it mistook the peacekeepers for a threat due to poor weather conditions.

The Israeli government has also announced the formation of an independent investigative committee to examine the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023. Israeli citizens, however, are demanding a full state-level commission of inquiry.

According to reports, over 69,400 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks over the past two years of conflict.
