RAWALPINDI: An official of the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi has been arrested on the charge of facilitating PTI founder and former prime minister in Imran Khan in getting communication with his party leaders and others.
The deputy superintendent of the jail identified as Mohammad Akram has been taken into custody and shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. He was removed from the post June this year.
Sources said that the jail official helped Imran Khan in having communication with people outside. He was providing him a telephone to talk to people outside. It has been learnt that Imran Khan had also been in touch with former ISI chief Faiz Hameed.
Two days back the army announced that they had taken into custody the former chief of the ISI Intelligence agency for a court martial in connection with a corruption cade and on other charges.
Imran Khan yesterday was quoted as telling his lawyers in the jail that the arrest of retired Gen Hameed was an internal matter of the army and PTI had nothing to do with it.
