Kakar in China to attend Belt and Road Forum meeting

Caretaker prime minister will also meet leaders of other countries participating in BRF.

Caretaker Prime Minster Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Monday reached China to attend the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held on Wednesday.

Kakar was received by Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moinul Haq.

During his stay, he will meet President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang and member of the Standing Committee of Politburo of the Communist Party of China. The caretaker prime minister will also meet leaders of other countries participating in the BRF.

Leading Chinese entrepreneurs are also scheduled to hold a meeting with the Pakistani delegation.

The visit of the caretaker prime minister comes in the backdrop of ongoing celebrations marking the ten years of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
