UNITED NATIONS: The Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, met Dr. Hussain Muhammad Abdullah, Chief of Addiction Services and Fellowship Program Director at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and President of the New Jersey Chapter of ASAM, to discuss collaboration in addiction medicine and community rehabilitation.
Dr. Abdullah highlighted his work in mental health advocacy, preventive outreach, clinical treatment, and professional training. Discussions explored partnerships with Pakistani-American organizations to raise awareness and potential linkages with institutions in Pakistan for knowledge exchange and capacity building.
The Consul General appreciated Dr. Abdullah’s public health contributions. Both sides agreed to pursue cooperation in community awareness, exchange, and addiction treatment initiatives.
