KARACHI: Police have made a major breakthrough in the case involving the murder of a woman and her three children whose bodies were found in a sewer near Mai Kolachi Road, Karachi.
The main suspect has been arrested, and he has confessed to killing the woman and her three children.
According to SSP Keamari Amjad Sheikh, Masroor Hussain was arrested from the Lyari area. During initial interrogation, the suspect confessed to killing the woman and her three children.
Police officials stated that the victim, identified as Anila, was allegedly involved in amulet-related practices. In his statement to police, the accused claimed that he was distressed due to these practices and killed Anila along with her children. He further admitted that he had been in contact with the woman for the past three years.
The suspect alleged that the woman used amulets and black magic and had been blackmailing him. After committing the murders, he fled the scene.
It is worth noting that the four bodies were recovered a day earlier from a sewer in the Mai Kolachi area. Police confirmed that the victims included Anila and her three children, Kaneen Zahra, Kishwar Zahra, and Hasnain.
Police further revealed that Anila was divorced and a resident of Kharadar. She and her children were living in a hotel in the Kharadar area at the time of the incident.
Investigations are ongoing, and further legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
