PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a significant increase in compensation for families affected by recent floods.
In a video link meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the provincial government reviewed relief activities in districts hit by the floods.
Under the new measures, compensation for completely destroyed houses has been raised from Rs 400,000 to Rs 1,000,000, while partially damaged houses will now receive Rs 300,000 instead of the previous PKR 100,000.
Owners of vehicles washed away in the floods will receive Rs 5 per person. Families forced to migrate due to the floods will be given Rs 15,000, and affected households will also receive food packages worth Rs15,000.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has instructed that payments for livestock losses will be released promptly.
These enhanced relief measures aim to provide timely financial support and meet the immediate needs of flood victims across the province.
