PESHAWAR: In compliance with the Peshawar High Court’s order, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police cleared the roads blocked by protesters across the province, restoring traffic flow on major highways.
Following the court’s directive to immediately reopen public roads for all types of traffic, the provincial police and administration took swift action, reopening several key roads.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police, Zulfiqar Hamid, stated that the court had emphasized that blocking citizens’ right to movement is a violation of the constitution. In light of this, the IG issued instructions to all regional and district police officers to fully implement the court’s orders and ensure the immediate reopening of all blocked routes to facilitate public movement.
