Lahore Hosts Pakistan’s Largest Cycling Race in History

LAHORE: Pakistan witnessed its largest-ever cycling race in Lahore on Sunday, organized by the Sports Board Punjab. More than 600 cyclists from different age groups participated in the historic event, making it a milestone for sports activities in the country.

The family fun cycling race covered a distance of 12 kilometers. In the children’s category, Ayan Adil secured first position, while Zainab Farhan topped the girls’ category and Ali Nasir claimed first place in the boys’ category.

Participants expressed happiness over the successful organization of the event and appreciated the efforts of the Sports Board Punjab in promoting healthy activities and sports culture. Provincial Minister for Sports, Malik Faisal Ayub, also took part in the race and later distributed prizes among the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that preparations are underway in Lahore for a record-breaking marathon involving around 10,000 participants.

During the race, the sports minister fell after losing balance on his bicycle and was immediately provided medical assistance. Despite the fall, he completed the race, earning appreciation from participants and spectators alike.

The organizers said the event highlighted Punjab’s growing focus on promoting cycling and fitness activities across the province.
