Lawyer’s license cancelled for locking courtroom

QUETTA: The chief justice of Balochistan High Court on Saturday cancelled the license of a lawyer for locking a courtroom after an altercation in Quetta on Friday.

The chief justice also referred the matter to the Balochistan Bar Council for further action against the lawyer identified as Farzana Khilji.

The woman lawyer locked the court after exchanging harsh words with civil judge Ishaq Mandokhel during the hearing of a case. The lawyer was representing the plaintiff in the civil case.

Quetta Bar Association president Qari Rahmatullah had earlier claimed that issue between the judge and the lawyer had been resolved. The bar president said that both the judge and the lawyer agreed not to pursue any case over the incident.

However, the chief justice of the high court took action against the lawyer and cancelled her licesnse.
