WASHINGTON: Following recent deadly attacks by Israel on Lebanon, both countries have begun negotiations in Washington, marking the fourth round of talks aimed at a ceasefire.

According to Al Jazeera, representatives from Lebanon and Israel arrived in the U.S. capital to participate in the talks, which are being held at the U.S. State Department headquarters. Lebanese official news agencies confirmed that this round continues ongoing efforts to halt hostilities between the two nations.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly expressed strong criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the attacks on Lebanon during a phone call. Reports claimed that Trump called Netanyahu “crazy” and said that widespread anger toward him contributed to broader resentment against Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue, with heavy shelling reported in southern cities, including Nabatiyeh, one of the major towns in the region.
