ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Monday called for stronger trade relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, urging both countries to work together to raise bilateral trade to $100 million.
While addressing the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Inter-Governmental Commission in Islamabad, Leghari emphasized the need for consistent collaboration across multiple sectors, Radio Pakistan reported.
He proposed reviving the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Business Council, holding regular business-to-business (B2B) meetings, and finalizing a memorandum of understanding on electronic data interchange between customs authorities to boost trade efficiency.
Leghari welcomed Kyrgyzstan’s interest in Pakistan’s mining sector, especially in copper and gold exploration, and encouraged Kyrgyz firms to invest in these opportunities.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to building strong economic partnerships and said both sides must act decisively to unlock their full trade potential.
