KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will address a major rally in Lyari Karachi on December 21.
A spokesperson for the JUI-G also announced plans to hold a “Tahaffuz-e-Madaris” (Protection of Religious Schools) conference at Usman Park, Lyari, which will be hosted by JUI South District Karachi.
The rally will demonstrate that Lyari is a stronghold of Islam-loving people. He stated that the residents of Lyari hold a deep affection for religion and its followers.
JUI’s central leader, Rashid Mehmood Soomro, along with Maulana Syed Hamadullah Shah and Maulana Noorul Haq, visited the rally venue at Usman Park to oversee the preparations. They also addressed the general council meeting of JUI South District Karachi, which was held at the venue.
Soomro mentioned that Sheikh-ul-Islam Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani’s special participation in the rally is expected, while Maulana Noorul Haq emphasized that the Lyari rally will be a landmark event in the history of Karachi.
Preparations for the Tahaffuz-e-Madaris conference have already begun. Committees for security, arrangements, outreach, and media are being formed. Additionally, prominent religious universities from South District have decided to hold a collective “Khatm-e-Bukhari Sharif” (completion of Bukhari Sharif) event as part of the ongoing preparations.
