ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in different regions of the country during the coming days.
According to the department, dry weather is likely to prevail over most parts of the country, while cold conditions are expected to persist in hilly areas during the night and early morning hours.
The PMD reported that in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the weather will remain partly cloudy with chances of light rainfall at a few locations. In contrast, Islamabad and its adjoining areas are expected to experience dry conditions, while Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding hill stations will remain cold and chilly.
There is also a likelihood of fog developing in Sialkot and nearby districts during the night and early morning. Most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain dry and relatively cold, with clear skies prevailing throughout the day.
Furthermore, the Met Office forecast indicates that scattered rainfall may occur in Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Swat, Malakand, and Kurram, while light showers are also expected in certain areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the last 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced dry weather, while cold temperatures were recorded in mountainous regions, particularly during nighttime.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, dry weather conditions accompanied by cool nights and warm daytime temperatures have led to a noticeable increase in cases of asthma, allergies, fever, and respiratory diseases.
Medical experts have attributed this rise to dust-laden winds, garbage burning, and poor sanitation practices, which have collectively aggravated the city’s air quality.
Reports from both public and private hospitals in Karachi indicate a significant surge in patients suffering from asthma, fever, malaria, and dengue, highlighting growing health concerns linked to environmental factors.
