Missing boy’s dead body recovered in Peshawar

Police say no mark of torture or sexual assault found on body of the 12-year-old.

PESHAWAR: A 12-year-old-boy from Upper Chitral who went missing from Peshawar a day earlier was found dead in a drain in the Board area of Peshawar located in the jurisdiction of Nasir Bagh police.

Islamuddin, son of Saifudin, from Laspur valley of Upper Chitral, had been missing since Sunday night. Police said there were no immediate signs of any sexual assault on the body of the body during the initial examination.

“Based on evidence, it appears that the child may have taken his own life. CCTV footage showed the child walking alone towards the drain. The child’s body has been transferred to hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. The results of the postmortem examination will provide more information about the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident,” said the police.
