BARCELONA: A new mosque with the name of Al-Fatah has been opened in the Manresa Municipality of Barcelona.
The establishment of a mosque in the area had been a longstanding desire of the Muslims and now this has come a reality through donation pooled in by the community.
Hundreds of faithful can pray at a time in the splendid mosque.
At the opening ceremony of the grand mosque, the president of the Islamic community of Manresa Abdul Rahim Haji, Islamic Community Union Catalonia president Muhammad Al-Ghadoni, Mayor of Manresa and others spoke.
Pakistan was represented at the function by Pak Federation of Spain president Saqib Tahir, chief coordinator Business Council, Syed Zulqarnain Shah, and chairman Welfare Council Raja Shafiq Kiani.
The Consul General of Pakistan at Barcelona Murad Wazir was invited to the event, but he could not turn up due some other pressing engagements.
A large number of people from different walks of life and faiths attended the opening ceremony and congratulated the Muslim community.
