Mystical Qawwali evening brings soulful Sufi tradition to New York
NEW YORK: The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York hosted a captivating cultural event titled “A Mystical Evening of Qawwali”, drawing a large and diverse audience from across the Pakistani-American community.
The highlight of the evening was a spellbinding performance by renowned Qawwals Abdullah Manzoor Niazi and Group, who presented a selection of classical Sufi kalaams by legendary poets such as Amir Khusrau, Bulleh Shah, and other revered mystics. The ensemble also performed patriotic songs and Hamd, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and cultural pride.
Held as part of the Consulate’s public diplomacy and cultural outreach initiatives, the event aimed to promote Pakistan’s spiritual and artistic traditions abroad.
