ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly approved several bills related to media and real estate, but the session was later adjourned due to an incomplete quorum.
The session, presided over by Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah, saw the passage of the Centers of Excellence (Amendment) Bill 2026 and the Federal Government Real Estate Management Authority Bill 2026, both introduced by Minister of State Wajih Qamar.
The assembly also considered the Amendment Bill for Senior Citizens of Islamabad Capital Territory 2025 and approved the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill 2025, introduced by Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh.
Additionally, the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Amendment Bill on Employment Conditions of Newspaper Employees were passed.
During the session, Aliya Kamran of JUI raised concerns over the lack of quorum.
Following a formal count, it was confirmed that the assembly did not meet the required quorum, prompting Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah to suspend proceedings. The session has been rescheduled for Monday at 5 PM.
