New wet spell also spreads to Khyber Pakthunkhwa and other areas in the north.
QUETTA: As a new wet spell started in most parts of the country with the arrival of a weather system from the west, most parts of Balochistan received rain and snowfall on Monday morning.
The Met Office in Islamabad has already forecast rain and snowfall in most of Balochistan and Khyber Pakthunkhwa provinces as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir from February 26 to 29.
Pishin, Muslim Bagh, Qila Saifullah, Chaman and Bolan have received heavy snowfall and rain early in the morning. There was no electricity in Quetta city and nearby areas after the wet spell.
Meanwhile, snowfall continued in North and South Wazirstan for the second day running on Monday, adding more chill to the air abd confining residents to their houses.
Moreover, the Karakorum Highway, which was blocked at Chilas after a landslide, has been opened for one-war traffic. Travellers on the road have been advised to start their journey keeping in mind the weather advisory.
