New Zealand won the series by defeating Pakistan in the second T20

 

HAMILTON: The Kiwis once again piled up the Shaheens, with New Zealand defeating Pakistan by nine wickets in the second T20 to take a decisive 0-2 lead in the series.

In the second T20 of the T20 series played in Hamilton, New Zealand, Pakistan scored 163 runs in the allotted 20 overs thanks to Muhammad Hafeez’s brilliant 99-run innings in response to which Team New Zealand lost the required target by 1 wicket. Completed

New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Tim Seifert started the innings aggressively, Guptill returned to the pavilion to score 21 off 11 balls, after which captain Ken Williamson sided with Team Seifert and won without further loss. Captain Williamson remained unbeaten on 57 and Seifert on 84.

Earlier, national team captain Shadab Khan won the toss and elected to bat first. The top order of the Pakistani team failed once again, this time Haider Ali and Mohammad Rizwan were selected for the opening but in the second over, Tim Southee returned Haider Ali (8) and then Abdullah Shafiq to the pavilion without opening an account.

Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 22 off 20 balls. Captain Shadab Khan, who played a responsible innings in the previous match, failed and returned to the pavilion after scoring only 4 runs. Mohammad Hafeez played a responsible game and was happy. Formed a good partnership with Shah, Hafeez also completed his half-century while playing the best innings of his T20 career, he remained unbeaten on 99 off 57 balls, including five sixes and 10 fours.
