NHA hikes toll tax by 50pc for vehicles without M-tag from June 15

ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced an increase of up to 50% in toll taxes for vehicles without M-Tags or with low balance on motorways. The new rates will come into effect from June 15, 2025.

According to the NHA notification, the new toll rates for cars without M-Tags or with low balance are:

Islamabad to Lahore: Rs1,800; Lahore to Abdul Hakeem: Rs1,200; Pindi Bhattian to Multan: Rs1,600; Multan to Sukkur: Rs1,800; D.I. Khan to Hakla: Rs1,000; Hasan Abdal to Mansehra: Rs450.

For commercial vehicles without M-tags: two- and three-axle trucks from Lahore to Islamabad: Rs7,900; and articulated trucks: Rs10,200.

The NHA says this step is being taken to promote the use of M-tags and reduce traffic congestion on motorways.

Drivers are advised to install M-tags on their vehicles and keep sufficient balance before June 15 to avoid higher toll charges.
