HYDERABAD: At least nine people lost their lives and more than 45 were injured in two separate road accidents on the National Highway in Sindh on Sunday.
The first incident occurred near Darsgah Muhammad Ali in Thatta, where a bus carrying picnic-goers from Karachi to Keenjhar Lake overturned due to over-speeding. According to rescue sources, six people were killed and over 20 sustained injuries in the crash.
In a separate accident near Khairpur, a passenger coach traveling from Karachi to Mansehra overturned amid heavy rain and speeding. Police reported that three people died while more than 25 were injured in the incident.
Rescue teams reached both scenes promptly and transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Authorities have cited over-speeding and poor weather conditions as the primary causes of the accidents.
