RAWALPINDI: Security forces eliminated nine militants in three separate intelligence-based operations conducted between 24 and 25 May in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
According to ISPR, the operations targeted individuals identified as “Indian-sponsored Khwarij” who were reportedly involved in various terrorist activities across the region.
In the first operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, four militants were killed following an intense exchange of fire. A second engagement in Tank district resulted in the elimination of two more militants. The third operation took place in the general area of Bagh, Khyber district, where security forces neutralized three additional targets.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from all three sites. The ISPR noted that the militants had been actively involved in orchestrating and executing acts of terrorism in the area.
“Sanitization operations are ongoing to clear any remaining threats,” the ISPR stated, reaffirming that security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism and countering foreign-sponsored destabilization efforts.
