No Child Left Behind Campaign Launched in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: A “No Child Left Behind” campaign has been launched in Islamabad t enroll all out of schools children.
The launch ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister for Education and Professional Training, who was the chief guest at the event. Dr. Siddiqui emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental right for every child, underscoring that the government is fully committed to ensuring that all children in Islamabad have the chance to learn and grow.
“Education is not a privilege, it is a right. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, and this campaign will ensure that we leave no child behind in our efforts to provide education for all,” Dr. Siddiqui declared in his speech.
The Secretary of Education, Nadeem Mahbub, also spoke at the ceremony, explaining the strategic approach behind the campaign. According to Mahbub, the initiative will focus on identifying, enrolling, and retaining out-of-school children across Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
He highlighted that the campaign will employ a collaborative and coordinated effort, bringing together government agencies, community leaders, and civil society organizations to address this issue comprehensively.
A key component of the campaign is the household surveys that will be conducted in each Union Council across Islamabad. These surveys are designed to identify every out-of-school child and connect them with appropriate educational opportunities, whether they be in formal schools or community-based non-formal education programs. The idea is to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of their access to traditional schooling.
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has urged all parents, community leaders, and members of civil society to actively support this initiative. “We need the involvement of everyone, families, local leaders, and citizens to make sure that every child in Islamabad is enrolled in school and given the chance to receive quality education,” Dr. Siddiqui emphasized.
