WASHINGTON: The United States of America has not yet decided to ban the entry of Pakistani citizens into America.
This was stated by State Department spokesperson Margaret MacLeod while talking to Pakistani reporters here.
Margaret MacLeod said that President Donald Trump had issued a presidential order on January 20, under which the visa program of the US will be reviewed. She said the decision was aimed at protecting the United States from foreign terrorists, adding information was being exchanged with different countries for visa restrictions.
Margaret MacLeod said that President Trump appreciated Pakistan’s contribution in the State of the Union address. Pakistanis living in the United States are an important part of society.
She said that in order to apply for entry into the United States, the applicant must state all the facts correctly, and in case of illegal entry into the United States, there will be a punishment.
A U.S. memo or order could impose visa restrictions on citizens of 41 countries, she added.
