No need of elections if you have taken a decision: Kundi

Says Had Nawaz been sure of public support, he would have spoken about polls.

ISLAMABAD: PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday poured scorn on PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for not mentioning elections in his address at a public gathering after returning home.

In a TV interview, Kundi said Nawaz Sharif should have talked about holding of elections without further delay but he didn’t.

“Every department should work within its domain. If you have made a decision, you should announce it; there would be no need of the elections,” he said referring to the establishment’s tacit support to the PML-N.

The PPP has been alleging that the return of Mr Sharif and grant of bail and suspension of arrest warrants against him by courts clearly showed that he had the support of the establishment.

Kundi also said that the entire machinery ofvthe Punjab government was used to facilitate the public gathering of the PML-N on the return of Mr Sharif.

He said there was no longer room for selection as majority of voters consisted of the youth.

If an attempt was made to rob the nation of its mandate this time, there would be chaos, he warned.
