Says people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have rendered huge sacrifices for tehir right to self-determination.

ISLAMABAD: The people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have rendered huge sacrifices for over seven decades for realization of their right to self-determination promised to them by the United Nations through its resolutions, said caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.

He was talking to OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir Yousef M. Al Dobeay, who called on him here on Thursday.

He said the issue of Kashmir was the root cause of insecurity in South Asia and there would be no durable peace in the region till the resolution of the issue in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

Mr Kakar expressed concern over the rise of Islamophobia around the world, particularly in the form of Hindutva.

Ambassador Dobeay assured the prime minister of OIC’s principled position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.  He said OIC was fully committed to the Kashmir cause and his visit to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir was an expression of that commitment.
