NUST graduates playing key role in different fields: envoy

Says we are also proud of contributions of our diaspora in USA.

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan has said that graduates of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) are playing a key role in national development and in different fields out of Pakistan.

He said the graduates of NUST are not only making their mark in their respective fields but are also proving themselves as the most abiding link between Pakistan and the United States.

He was speaking duringĀ  an e-meeting with the leadership of NUSTIAN-US which is a network of around 1,200 US-based alumni of National University of Sciences and Technology.

The ambassador was briefed by Dr Azeem Sarwar, the president of NUSTIANS, said that it consisted of seven regional and 17 local chapters. Members of NUST are currently serving in 180 reputed organizations and over 20 universities in the United States.

He said that since 2019, the organization had collected 1.57 million dollars which were being utilized for welfare activities.

He said that NUSTIANS have established over 26 endowment scholarships in different educational institutions and were currently providing financial aids to over 100 students.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Khan, “We are proud of contributions of our diaspora in the United States as well as in the country of their origin.”

The ambassador said the embassy was actively engaged in connecting professional organizations of Pakistani Americans who are serving the country in various walks of life.
