Oman Opens Cultural Visa With Simplified Application Process
MUSCAT: Oman has recently introduced a cultural visa specifically designed for foreign skilled individuals, offering a wide range of opportunities in the fields of arts, culture, and research.
This visa is particularly aimed at professionals who wish to actively participate in Oman’s vibrant cultural landscape, including temporary cultural exchanges, technical training programs, research or educational collaborations, attending cultural conferences, fairs, or exhibitions, and organizing cultural events and activities.
The cultural visa is available for multiple durations: a one-year visa, a five-year visa with annual fees, and a ten-year visa with annual fees.
Applicants are required to select the visa type that corresponds to their intended length of stay and must obtain sponsorship from a recognized Omani institution, such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, or an accredited cultural center. The sponsoring institution plays a crucial role in assisting applicants with the visa submission process as well as making necessary arrangements for accommodation and logistical support.
All applicants are required to submit the visa application along with the complete set of necessary documents to the relevant Omani institution.
Upon approval, the cultural visa permits temporary residence in Oman and provides full access to participate in the country’s cultural activities. In addition, applicants have the option to include their spouse and children on the visa, provided that their names are explicitly listed in the application form.
Through the introduction of this cultural visa program, Oman aims to attract skilled professionals from around the world, encouraging them to contribute to the country’s cultural initiatives, enhance the local creative ecosystem, and support the growth of arts, culture, and research throughout the Sultanate.
