PESHAWAR: Security forces are continuing Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq in the South Waziristan region, targeting terrorists’ positions near the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
According to security sources, the Pakistan Army carried out a timely operation against a post allegedly linked to Afghan Taliban elements located close to South Waziristan. The position was reportedly destroyed using explosives during the operation.
Officials stated that the action was part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts against militant groups referred to by authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij. Following the strike, militants were forced to retreat from the targeted area.
Sources further said that security forces will continue targeting militant hideouts and installations in the border region as part of the ongoing operation.
The development comes amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where security forces say militant activity has increased in recent weeks.
