ISLAMABAD: The political turmoil in Pakistan continues as the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan, an alliance of opposition parties, has vowed to maintain its protest at the Parliament House until former Prime Minister Imran Khan receives adequate medical treatment.
The alliance, which includes key opposition leaders, is demanding that Khan be allowed to meet with his personal physician, a request that has become a focal point of their ongoing demonstration.
Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir made it clear that the protest would not end until a party representative meets with Imran Khan, who is currently in custody. His comments highlighted the growing frustration within the opposition, which feels that Khan’s health is being neglected while he remains incarcerated.
Similarly, Mahmood Achakzai, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, reiterated that the sit-in would continue, emphasizing the unity and resolve within the opposition ranks.
PTI’s Secretary-General, Salman Akram Raja, also voiced his party’s stance, stating that the protest would remain in place until a formal meeting takes place between one of their officials and Khan. The opposition’s insistence on a meeting is part of a broader strategy to highlight the health concerns surrounding the former Prime Minister and to pressure the government for a response.
Meanwhile, a medical report shared with the media revealed that Imran Khan’s right eye vision has improved somewhat, with partial recovery to 6/9.
