ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Asad Qaiser, with other opposition members, has called for a judicial commission to probe the sugar scandal.
Speaking outside Parliament House, he alleged large-scale corruption in the sugar sector. He urged swift action against those looting the national exchequer.
Qaiser said both bureaucrats and others responsible must face justice. He criticized punishments given to opposition leaders, saying they lacked fairness. He questioned the government’s intentions and the direction of the country.
He claimed opposition leaders were being removed and pressure was on other lawmakers. He noted Omar Ayub had a court stay order and would remain opposition leader.
Qaiser condemned restrictions in the assembly, saying the opposition’s voice was being silenced. “Where should we go?” he asked.
He vowed to keep fighting. He again pressed for a judicial commission to ensure transparent investigations and curb corruption.
