ISLAMABAD: Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan (TTAP) of the opposition parties held a meeting here and vowed to defend the supremacy of the constitution and democratic traditions.

It particularly resolved to resist unconstitutional statements about possible Governor Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Senior leaders, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Asad Qaiser, and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, attended the meeting and vowed to oppose any move to impose Governor Rule at all levels.

The party condemned police violence against women waiting outside Adiala Jail to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan, highlighting it as part of broader concerns over the erosion of democratic norms.

TTAP urged the government to demonstrate seriousness in negotiations, ensure compliance with court orders, and expedite hearings on pending cases against Imran Khan.

In addition to opposing unconstitutional measures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, TTAP announced plans to hold a “National Consultative Conference” in Islamabad on December 20-21, inviting opposition parties, bar councils, and human rights organizations.

The movement also called for the immediate resumption of Pakistan-Afghanistan border trade and urged disputes to be resolved through diplomatic channels.
